Illimani has watched over La Paz for longer than anyone can properly account for — glowing at sunset, hiding in cloud, catching the morning sun from a plane window nobody else was looking out of. We’ve spent an unreasonable amount of time chasing it with a camera, from tin-fenced side streets to dirt switchbacks a car probably shouldn’t have been on.
This is a small, honest collection of six photographs. No filters pretending to be film, no stock-photo gloss. Just the mountain, seen from where we happened to be standing.
