Illimani, briefly
El Alto sits at 4,150 m (13,615 ft) — higher than the highest peak in the
continental United States outside Alaska. From here, looking south across the
altiplano, Illimani doesn’t rise above you so much as agree to appear in the
window at the same altitude as some passing clouds.
